Dear tennis gods/angels/fairies,
I have some very important requests that I’d love you to fulfill at the moment. You may be aware that some certain people are completely dominating the sport of tennis right now. If you aren’t aware, then you are fakes. Although I hate to use names, I’m speaking of Novak Djokovic and Victoria Azarenka. Even though Vika’s streak has ended, her domination probably won’t. This leads to my first request: Please let everyone have a chance to win a title this year. On the men’s side, Novak has already won a slam, so the nice thing for you all to do would be to let Rafa take the French Open, Federer take Wimbledon, and Andy Murray take the US Open. That way, it would be fair for everyone. Since the Djoker somewhat dominated the first part of this season, it would be really kind of you to let Rafa dominate the clay season, let Roger dominate the extremely short grass season and possibly take the gold medal at the Olympics, and let Murray have the American hardcourt season. On the girls side, give Maria a win somewhere. The poor girl just cannot win finals at the moment and it’s making us all sad. It would be great to see Venus get back up top in the rankings too. Let an underdog on the women’s side surprise us at the Olympics and win gold. Make it interesting. This ends my first request.
The second request is slightly different. I love when a certain athlete gains momentum and wins many consecutive matches, I really do, but I’m quite tired of all of these streaks. Streaks lead to one person dominating as I mentioned in request one, and it dulls the sport. Sometimes, upsets are good things. They stir up the tennis community. They send a jolt to the other players, one that says “Wake up, because this underdog that just upset [insert name here] may be coming for you.” Upsets are even better when they happen unexpectedly. When the person upsetting comes back in a tiebreaker or is two sets down in a slam. When the upset ends a really long streak and ends domination. Honestly, I think I’m speaking for the whole tennis community when I say that streaks block the chance for variety to happen in a tournament. We like variety. We like surprises, not blandness. We like unexpected things, so make them happen.
This final request is very important for the older players. Please, please protect anyone from getting hurt in the rest of the season, and by all means DO NOT let anyone else retire this year. End all of the retirement talk end that is surrounding and engulfing Clijsters, Roddick, Venus and even Federer. No one likes to think about these people throwing in the towel on their wonderful career, and we were all saddened when Gonzo had to say goodbye after his first round loss in Miami. If players really do have to retire, let them go out with a bang. Let them do it after winning major tournaments or after something great happens in their life. For the players that are resting from injury/sickness currently, (Petko, Soderling, Rafa, etc…) let them return safetly and let them win accordingly.
If all of these requests are fulfilled, I can see many good things happening in the tennis future. I bow down to all of the great things you have done thus far tennis gods. Please continue going great things for years to come.
Sincerely,
Isabella (and anyone else who would like to co-sign below)
There’s a poll, and Djokovic is winning over Murray and Rafa. A silly poll made by me, but it’s killing me inside that he’s winning against these two for anything. fix this.
I made a new “serious” blog and I decided I shall shamelessly promote it as much as I can. And because Rafa’s winning on my poll, but only 9 people have voted. Wait a minute, 9 is Rafa’s favorite number. Goodbye.
Reblog if this applies to you:)
Merry Christmas from Rafa and Xisca.
Amamos A Rafa is usually dedicated to just Rafael Nadal, but I also believe Steve Jobs is a wonderful and intelligent being. He will be missed greatly.

My submission!
Rafa and Toni goofing off during practice. They were playing this game where they kick the ball and see how close they can get it to the net without hitting it. This is my video taken during the US Open ‘11. Ignore the fans that know nothing commentating in the background:)
